I grew up licking the bowls of batter that had raw eggs inthem and I am 73. I still use raw eggs also.

I actually just verified myself to comment on this video. The way you told people to fuck off without saying it was beautiful.

When you blend the sugar with the eggs, it ultimately cooks the eggs. I was taught that in culinary school

I also grew up eating the best homemade ice cream from recipes passed down through our family. They all had raw eggs included and we never got sick. I have an old recipe for snow cream that also had a raw egg. Delishious! Great point about the mayo, Chef...

Omg sir. I lost my grandmother Iverson 20 years ago, and she made ice cream with evaporated milk. No one knew the recipe but it's some of the best ice cream I've ever had. From my memory as a child I believe this is the one. Thank u so much, I'll try it this wknd.

Brings back the best childhood memories; we all took our turn at churning and wood fight over the churn when it was done🥰

Rinsing the evaporated milk cans was not just about not being wasteful, but it also put just enough water back into the evaporated milk to make that ice cream freeze up harder. Without the water you get a "softer" ice cream. Mom always said that you either needed cream or evaporated milk to get a "creamy" texture, and you needed a little water to get the ice. Mom also taught me that there is no substitute for Watkins Vanilla. "If you're gonna take the time to make it, use the best ingredients you can get" was always her philosophy, and the brand of vanilla was not negotiable!

I grew up eating this homemade ice cream. As a kid I use to sneak a piece of ice and eat it while churning the maker.

I love making homemade ice cream. I bought two different mixers, one for 2 gallon and 1.5 gallon. Good recipe you have Sir!

Yep, Chef J. We had a hand churn Unit. I make vanilla butter pecan and cream adding a bit more cream and milk and eggs. Congratulations. On bringing back memories of my Mom. . it was always a hit of the neighborhood. I have folks begging for it

This video made me think of my Aunt Jannie. She made homemade ice cream for all our family summer gatherings and at church would sell it for 10 cents a cone. Miss those days.😊
