What Is Romantic Love?

What is romantic love? How can we attract the right partner? And what can we do to make romantic love last? A questioner raises these age-old questions around love just in time for the Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Rupert says that love is the recognition that we are the same being. The love we feel for our intimate companions, our families, our friends, the people that we don't know and the people that we dislike is the same. But the way we express that love varies.

Friendship is a particular expression of that love. And a romantic relationship is a form of friendship that is expressed on more levels than just a regular friendship. Obviously, sexual intimacy is a large part of that. But the love is the same.

The best way to identify a partner for yourself would be to look for someone in whom there was very little sense of lack and the best way to make yourself very attractive to a potential partner, would be to reduce the sense of lack in yourself. Free yourself from the sense of lack and you'd be surprised how the universe will respond to you. You're inviting the universe to appear to you in the form of someone who will appreciate this absence of lack in you.
