I really wish we saw him on coruscant! I've always wondered what it looked like during the time of the Empire

Vader: My emperor what did Thrawn and I specifically tell you about the Death Star
Emperor: Shut up

The TIE Defender Project was FAR more dangerous for a project against the Rebels. Unlike the Death Star, which isn't something to mass-produce, the TIE Defender would have been mass-produced. The TIE Defender would most certainly have destroyed the Rebellion. But the Death Star is nothing. It's a joke at this point.

And after reading “Thrawn Treason”, it was the grand admiral who had Vader assigned to oversee project Stardust with Grand Moff Tarkin. This was right after they’ve identified a traitor amongst their ranks in the imperial navy. Grand Admiral Savit of the third fleet and the Captain of the ISD: Firedrake.

This was a missed opportunity from the episode or at least the next episode. A scene between Thrawn and the Emperor discussing the Tie Defender and perhaps the death of Kanan Jarris, would of been more than thrilling.

Tarkin only takes credit for something when someone else went through the hard work of making it

I wondered if Orson Krennic and Thrawn have some kind of connections to each other

I know, in this show we hardly see any higherups beyond Thrawn, Governor Pryce, or Tarkin. Unlike Rebels, the Clone Wars series almost always had direct ties to the higherups such as Chancellor Palpatine, the Senate, The Separatist Parliament, Duchess Satine, Senators and Representatives such as: Senator Amidala, Bail Organa, Count Dooku, Jar Jar, Mon Mathma, Chi Chi, Mother Talzin, the Jedi Council, the Pirates, the Banking Clan, the Pike Syndicate, Bounty Hunters, etc. I don't think we've ever seen this in Rebels. It surely adds to the realism of a story like this to add highly influential people into a discussion. I'm calling it now: we won't see Thrawn talk to the Emperor! (Maybe he's still enroute to Coruscaunt, but I highly doubt it). By far my favorite episodes from the Clone Wars series might have been Heroes on Both sides, where Palpatine/Sidious says "Isn't it amazing that one can have all the power in the galaxy, but the words of a single senator can sway the thoughts of millions... For now we must adhere to the principles of our democracy... We must let the wheels of the senate... turn!" and the Episode where Count Dooku retaliates peace talk by killing Mina Bonteri, a separatist, and exploding Coruscaunt's power generator. In those episode, it showed the vast political people and powers at play from both sides, nut just one (Rebellion), as seen in Rebels thus far. The infiltration of Ahsoka and Padme onto Raxus was almost surreal, they made it through and made their case to Mina Bonteri and Lux Bonteri. Each side (Republic and Separatist) argued they had the more just, true, and 'good' government and justified their actions taken. Going beyond one side's point of view surely helped us as an audience realize that there were in fact revered, honorable, beloved, and honest people on both the Republic and Separatist sides. The senate speeches & proposals by Padme and Bail Organa were most impressive, and well as the entanglement & Darth Sidious/Chancellor Palpatine created by toying around with the war on both sides. Interactions with the baking clan on Scipio, the Cloning Facilities on Kamino, slavery operation on Zygerria, the medical facility, and Neutral Worlds like Mandalore, the Monkey world (Where Ahsoka, Aaayla, Rex, and Ahsoka crashed in S1) helped prove that every corner of the galaxy had paid the price of the Clone Wars through innocent deaths and modern slavery (clones and Zygerrians). All in all, Rebels has not done a good job at explaining the greater powers and people at play, and explaining why the Empire is 'evil'. It has however done a good job at explaining morality.
