WHY I RUN

For me, running has never been about changing my body, self-hate, or a painful slog of punishment. It has been freedom, joy, exploration and the deep experience of being human. ✨

Since I was 13-years-old and discovered running, which turned into my love of fitness, it has been my life’s mission to share that joy with you.

This is why I run. I would love to know in the comments below — why do YOU run?

It's humbling
but addictive at the same time.
The feeling of being present in the moment
And being totally cut off from the world.
Moving meditation.

HECK I started running to make my body smaller...I kept running because I love how it makes me feel. Now I run, because of all the beautiful places it takes me and experiences it allows me to have! Whether it is dancing all night, hiking up mountains or walking around cities I am always ready to do it all!

I really needed this video today. Thank you!

ughhh this hit me in the feels. I run for freedom, but building my capability, and for proving I can to myself.

Running trails is the ultimate mindful thing to do....being present for hours every week, listening to nature, your feet, your breath, discovering your unique soul. Always, feeling better about yourself and the world! (This is a great video...I love it)

Getting started is the worst, but realizing you can do it is the BEST ❤️

SO good. So important. Thanks for making this. Look forward to screening it (and discussing it) in a course I'm designing on the body, culture, and society.

I am not a natural runner so it makes me really dislike it. This video is absolutely beautiful and so inspiring. 🙌

I’m only just getting back to running, but I also hike and lift - and moving my body, doing hard things, is one of the ways I most strongly feel and experience myself without other noise from the world and I feel deeply alive

I DID start running to change my body. & all my past experience prior to that WAS because someone made me.

Honestly, it wasn't until I started on trail (via your inspo) that I unlocked that unmatched, human feeling.
So for real, shouts to you for spreading that pure running joy.

I run because it makes me feel more capable and alive. And also it brings me so much joy :)

I started the Lyss Method Beginner running program because I hated how out of breath I was on squats when I had sets with reps of 10, I keep running because its amazing to see what your body is physically capable even when you may have doubts in your head.

I run because it is simultaneously an escape and a time to do my deepest thinking and reflection. It has helped me process some of the toughest things I’ve experienced in my life while also making me feel gratitude, joy and freedom. Loved this video! ❤
