Major damage would occur in the Dam systems of the TVA (Tennessee Vally Authority) resulting in the drowning of Millions in KY, TN< AL and GA. These systems did not exist in 1811-1812. Those living in older brick structures would also be in great danger. I have been involved in Emergency Management (45+ years experience ) and I am trained in Collapsed building rescue. In 1980 a meeting was held to discuss the danger to the TVA and it was decided that anything above a 7.1 magnitude quake in the New Madrid zone would result in the massive loss of life and property due to structural dam failure. Brick structures of over 80 years old and NOT reinforced would have a 95% structural collapse rate. It is a fact that wooden structures fair better in Earthquakes. Cities like Memphis and Indianapolis have a lot of these older Brick structures for example as well as most towns in the midwest and central areas of America. LIquidifacation is also very likely in these areas due to the nature of Bedrock in these zones..

Interior quakes are in high pressure zones where PST buckling occurred from the high pressures of plate tectonics crumbled or raised weak spots in the crust.
