Thank you for this. Growing up, I most often heard about Revelation and Daniel as foundational texts for far-out conspiracy theories, so I have tended to stay away from both books. This comentary makes me want to read them for myself. Are there church Fathers who wrote commentaries on Daniel and Revelation that you would recommend?

I came here after the priest in the daily Mass homily in the pro -cathedral Dublin said that the Book of Daniel, along with the Book of Esther and Book of Tobit were nothing more than novels . I've been interested in the accuracy of the Daniel timeline prophecy of the coming of our Lord as the Messiah and the the 4 kingdoms represented by the statue for a while now, but it is something that you hear mostly from evangelicals, and not so much among Catholics. Anyway, thanks again .
