Mother Angelica was witty, funny and so sincere in what she said. I am a Catholic "returnee" and I came across EWTN about a year in a half ago after my Mom had died, and there she was sitting in her chair, joking around with the studio audience and the audience watching her. I love how Mother Angelica addressed an issue pointed out by many atheists in my circle which is the issue of suffering. why would God be so vengeful so to speak and if there was a god why is there so much ugliness and sadness in this world. A deep exploration of Catholic understanding particularly from the angle of mother Angelica's view on suffering answers that very question... the Catholic church for me after many years of study remains the only religion in the world that addresses the issue of how one suffers and sometimes must suffer and how it relates to the soul and divinity of Jesus Christ.

I love her and miss her. She was firey but also so tender. I never had cable so did not see her until a few years ago after my mom had died. I was really struggling and she reminded me so much of my mom. She was a great comfort and her talks and books have helped me so much.
