Friends, there is something dark, threatening, and a little bit dire about the Gospel reading today, but through it, we see that death is not the final word. We’ve listened to the noise of the world for long enough, and now we need a new spiritual guide to lead us out of our complacency: Jesus.

As a Protestant, I’m finding Bishop Barron messages more relevant during these times as our evangelical churches are turning away from Christ and embracing politics………I’m so glad I can listen to him weekly…

Bishop Barron's style of homiletics is thorough, riveting, refreshing, endearing and highly enlightening. Being a scholar par excellence, he's also humble and relatable. His ability to teach and break down complex issues is phenomenal. May God bless him as he continues to feed our souls.

What a beautiful explanation and interpretation of one of the “scariest” books in the Bible! Yet, Jesus shows us not to be afraid, for it (Death) will not be The End, but rather an unveiling of the real and everlasting Truth. The Truth that Our Savior has risen from the grasp of Death, as He predicted He would, and more powerfully, if we follow His Way and His Truth, WE TOO shall overcome Death and rise up to met Him. It’s almost profoundly simple, to me, at least! God Bless you, Bishop Barron! You have been gifted to speak His word…and you do it so well!! Much love to you!

My name is Dismas Peter from Tanzania, always following your sermons daily, thank you Bishop for your good work. My catholic faith has been renewed and strengthened through your sermons I receive daily through Word on Fire. I started following you on EWTN before you became a Bishop. May Our Lord bless you.

I'm a retired protestant minister mid-way across the Tiber, and I thought this was the best sermon on this text I've ever heard. Where many have gone veering off into craziness, you truly unveiled this passage. Thanks!

Anyone with children or grandchildren in Faith Formation should strongly recommend viewing this video before Mass, or after. It will save them (and you for them) hours and years of anxiety. God Bless you, Bishop Barron!

You always make so much sense out of God’s word. You have taken a gospel reading that I always thought was the physical end of the world and made it into GOSPEL-(good news)! Love you Bishop Barron

I find that I cannot get enough of Bishop Barron's interpretations of Christianity/Catholicism. He takes words that I have heard my entire life and brings them into a new reality. He is truly led by Christ and brings a powerful message for these times.

This is one of the best sermons...probably ever. I would like to perhaps push it a little bit further to say that not only would the Jews have the veil pulled back in revelation in their generation, but that all Christians must have the veil pulled back every generation. All of the things that past generations used for navigation and basic survival (including politics I might add) are all inherently good things that God wants us to use for our benefit and His glory. This is certainly true in our generation. We must beware that should we become so attached to the goods of this world that we forget the very foundation of those goods, (which is Jesus [John 1:3]) than we live in a generation that must have the veil drawn back, yet again, for us all to see who is reality and goodness itself. I would argue that this has been necessary for every generation. What is one of the key principles of us having this veil pulled back? Among other methods, I believe that the most certain one is Holy Suffering...offering up to God our spiritual and physical tragedies. You'd be surprised how well that works. Look to Him on the Cross the next time you go to Mass and gaze at His suffering; His suffering that redeemed the world.
God bless you all and God bless you Bishop Barron.

I'm 62. Finally, for the first time in my life I hear the Apocalypse explained in a way that, YES, makes sense. Bishop Barron, you are a blessing to the world.

*"We Christians who received the message of the Ressurection, we have received apocalypses to reveal the deepest truth of things and now we need to govern our lives by this new power."* - BISHOP BARRON

Everytime I went to the church and hear other priest's sermon, I always think what would Bishop Barron deliver for this Gospel reading. But I always think of the mass as where God is present. Being born in the Philippines, out Catholic faith is deeply set on us. However, we do not have serious and charismatic catechist teacher like Bishop Barron. So we are always at loss and there is a time that I was totally lost on what is the meaning of Eucharist. Perhaps, many of the Catholic lay people are also in the same dilemma. Hence what I observe most of the people who attend to mass without any forethought about what the mass means end up missing the whole point of it. And add to that is the absence of good GPS which will guide us. Hence, a lot will fall to evangelical denomination without realizing that they are turning from the real church who has been true to Christ's word and celebrating what Christ wanted us to do. The moment I realize the importance of the Holy Eucharist which was supplemented by the teaching videos of Bishop Barron, it gave me a new meaning on what it is. Once again, you are a God gift Bishop Barron...
