How To Align and Aim LED Bulbs For the Brightest Light Output | Headlight Revolution

When your new LED bulbs aren't aimed properly a couple things happen:
#1: You have a weird beam pattern that makes it hard for you to drive your car.
#2: You're missing out on the maximum brightness because they're out of focus.

This is why it's so important to make sure your new LED bulbs are aligned correctly inside your Housings! In this video, John goes through some alignment steps and examples on how to do it yourself. Most of the time the LED chips on your bulb should be pointed horizontally, left-to-right, or at "9 and 3". It is possible that your bulb may need to be aligned a little differently, depending on the application, but most of the time this rule of thumb holds true. If you have them installed this way and you still think you could use more brightness, pull up to your garage door and experiment with some slightly shifted alignment attempts.

Exactly what I needed to know. I just got my superbrightleds 9006 conversion bulbs and am installing them and wondered if the alignment of the bulb inside the housing made a difference. Turns out it does, thanks to you

A little tip...i was having some trouble finding the right 9&3 configuration just eyeballing it. So I placed the bulb as it should be installed. Then took a white paint marker and made a dot at 12oclock on the collar. Then took the bulb out and aligned it perfectly, tightened the Allen screws and it was perfect. No need to fiddle, just try this, it works awesome. You're welcome. 😁

Thank you for this video.
I drove to work today wondering why my brand new LED lights looked way worse than the old halogens I had.
This explains it perfectly.
And also explains the mysterious Allen wrench in the box... 😂

There ought to be a law that these directions must be printed on every LED bulb package sold in the US!!!

very helpful. My new led's are light crap...one side shoots in the air, the other side is just a blur. With this simple explanation I can adjust them correctly. To adjust the bulbs I have to remove the grill, sidelights then the headlights..PITB!

Awesome, information all should know if they're installing LED's, I knew there was a certain position but didn't know if it was 12/6(led blade horizontal) or 3/9 o'clock (led blade vertical). Thank you for the video.

Problem is your not showing all this in a headlamp projector assembly which generally always causes horrible led wave patterns that can not be eliminated regardless if the leds are set in a 3&9 position using lasfit led h11 lowbeam bulbs.
