Relying on motivation to workout 👀

We’ve all been there - waiting for that magical burst of motivation to get us off the couch and into the gym. But here’s the thing, motivation is fleeting and unreliable.

Relying on it as your sole driving force for exercise can lead to inconsistency and frustration.

I know a lot of people will use motivation in January - which I love, but that motivation will fail by February easily….

🕰️ Instead of motivation, focus on establishing a rock-solid routine and cultivating good daily habits.

Here’s how:

1️⃣ Set a Schedule: Plan your workouts ahead of time. Treat them like important appointments, and stick to your schedule.

2️⃣ Start Small: Don’t overwhelm yourself with hours of exercise right away. Begin with manageable, realistic goals and gradually increase intensity and duration.

3️⃣ Accountability: Find a workout buddy, join a fitness class, or hire a trainer. Accountability can keep you on track even when motivation wanes.

4️⃣ Track Your Progress: Document your fitness journey. Celebrate small victories, and use setbacks as learning experiences.

5️⃣ Prioritize Recovery: Rest and recovery are crucial for muscle growth and overall well-being. Don’t neglect them.

6️⃣ Nutrition Matters: Fuel your body with the right nutrients to support your workouts and recovery.

7️⃣ Consistency is Key: Even on days when you don’t feel like working out, stick to your routine. You’ll be amazed at how discipline can trump motivation.
