I train to failure involuntarily because I have chronic memory loss and forget how many reps I do so than I get mad at myself and do more but then forget again and it’s just a cycle 💀

There's really no proven evidence to training to failure compared to going a rep or two shy of it. The recent study everyone talked about was about inconsistent and extremely low volume training. I do train to failure but only because of the feeling because it releases a lot of dopamine and endorphins

Training close to failure in the long run will be better then taking every set to failure. Because if train to failure every set you will build up more system fatigue. But if you leave 1-2 reps on the table, you can do another set at a similar intensity. This also different for what you want to train. Hypertrophy I believe this works better. But if ur doing strength then maybe failure. Quality high volume will take you far away

. If your powerlifting go near to failure will benefit because of the adaptations your CNS needs.

For hypertrophy train the muscle as much as possible.

Yeah sure 3rir will have similar results as failure. How do you know you have 3rir without consistently training to failure? Even if you do know what rep you will fail, how would you know if it’s one more or less rep now…
