Imagine AI as a powerful telescope, allowing data analysts to explore vast galaxies of information with unprecedented speed and accuracy. However, like skilled astronomers, analysts will still be needed to contextualise, and draw meaningful conclusions from the vast cosmic dataset.

I feel like such a "Mo groupie, " but I love your content! It's informative and easily digestible. This topic specifically has excellent timing. I joined LinkedIn a few weeks ago and the first night, I got incredibly overwhelmed by all the AI talk! I worried I was starting a path to another dead end. 😣 I absolutely love what you said about using AI and making yourself AI-proof. 👍

Bosses can be replaced by AI as easily as analysts. For now, most bosses wouldn't know what to do with the data, without the analysts to guide them. And an analyst with AI will just get more done, so unless your org is already very data-mature at over 50% of its data leveraging potential, there really shouldn't even be any job losses, either. In fact, AI may be the thing that finally convinces more places to give their people real tech like Python and SQL, not just Excel and pre-gen reports.

From what I am seeing is that artificial intelligence is good at things a computer could do. So, it would be good for repetitive logical problems and similar situations. However, considering that a lot of the time spent on data analysis is data cleaning according to what other people said. I doubt it could do the job by itself, and even still, it should be watched like how an employee would.

Next step will be psedo data encription, they transform your corporate data into some "fake" datasets, so now you can do analysis of A vs B with completely different background premis, and no one will know it's your coporate data

The main concern is security... well then, answer the same question when ( who knows what months, weeks) some company came up with an app to solve that one... just 2 decades ago no one trusted online payment, or banking... you mean I get paid without holding the cash in my hand...???

as AI helps people to be more effective and more effective, I only need a fresh graduate with coding knowledge to train and fine tune it, instead paying some "experienced" person who demand vacations, and anual bonus... AI have made a huge structure change of employees who live off seniority....

Security is not an issue. Just use a local LLM. That's what we do.

Will AI replace all data analysts? Probably not. Will AI make way harder to find a job in the field? Probably yes.

When AI gets implemented DA roles will get gradually absorbed into DS position resulting in job growth in DS. DA roles will decline and eventually be practically eliminated like book keeper clerks and bank tellers as these roles are absorbed into accounting and bank associates respectively.
