Please don't mislead people. I started my career as a Data analyst. Data analyst is not about only reporting, it has core sql querying, before reporting in tableau it has lot of underlying sql coding. I have written a 2000 lines of sql code for some dashboards and apart from that you will have some data engineer requirements also at that time you need to do etl process as well. And top of that you will get requirements for data science projects also. It is not a myth it is fact that data analysts can convert to data engineer and data scientists

I highly disagree with the last one. Not everyone has the experience to become a data scientist first. Data analyst is a common stepping stone for a reason. It gives you good experience with data and then you can more easily transition to data scientist. Not everything has to be a 1-year process.

data analyst helps your core data skills. As you get more experience to will naturally pick up ML knowledge to solve business problems or improve organizational efficiencies.

I need to intervene: some people (including the woman in the video), mislead us into thinking that you can become a Data Scientist right off the bat. I can assure you: no one can become a Data Scientist (or even a Data Engineer) without prior Data experience, usually in a Data Analyst position. It's the only job title that hires at entry level. There are NO JUNIOR roles for Data Scientist/Engineer positions. If you see data bootcamps or Sundas telling you otherwise, they just don't understand the reality of the data market.

i dont agree with the first one. You can't get a job where you enjoy everything you do. After all a job is a job, not a hobby. Even if you enjoy playing football and become a football player, you will still dislike some things

As a data professional, one wear multiple hats - saying data analyst is a wrong career choice is surely misleading. Every data professional in today's industry is expected to have and should have data engineering, data analysis, data visualization skills. Data scientist is a shiny penny these days but keep in mind statistical modeling is largely dependent on curated data obtained using above mentioned basic data skillsets. All these fields compliment each other!

We cannot enter into data science field as a data scientist without experience. Data Analyst is like the contributing factor to become data scietist. More over data understanding and experience would be great if we start as data analyst. It makes you understand data well to become a data scientist.

I have learned data science pretty well and have decent skills but data analyst role is the stepping stone. You can't get fresher role as data scientist. Getting experienced in real world data as a data analyst really helps as data scientist. Even dashboard and reporting skills are important in all the data fields. Learn good foundation in statistics. Don't overlearn deep algorithms because there are lot of tools to help you with that. As field so saturated you should be all in one to be something nowadays.

Every Data Scientist is a Data Analyst first.

There is a Big Different between Business Analyst and Data Analyst.

The dashboard from the Data Analyst is not for business presentation like Business Analyst but its to share his researches with Data Science Team.

Data analyst use the statistic and visualization to understand the data and its variables and share this discoveres to enhance Data Science models.

Data analyst = less headache . I know end to end BI but i prefer working on front end ..meanwhile my counterparts DE DS work 16 hrs and crib all the time
