I used to use the Palomar but have sense switched to the Berkeley braid knot for everything.

If the knot cinches too early, pull the tag end to tighten the loop and not the mainline, making sure it’s wet.

Great tips, I have always wonder why when I tie my drop shot the line would curl. I always had problems with the line snapping when I would pull the fish out the water on to the bank, or if the weight would get hung up my knot would fail at the hook. Next outting I'm going to retie my drip shot set up and see how it goes.
