I never knew the name of the knot. My friend showed it to me one time and called it the 100% knot. Best knot ever!

Secure and easy knot. I used it once on a 60 pound line, it got stuck on a rock, I pulled and the hook bent straight but the knot never slipped.

I can't tell you how many times my father tried to teach me this knot on fishing trips when I was young. I never was able to get the hang of it. Yet, watching this video once and I got the hang of it..Very well done tutorial! Thanks!

Has anyone done a weight test with this? Very interesting, I'm just wondering how it will fair with 50lb test mono with fish anywhere from 10-60lbs

You actually deviated from the Palomar and I wonder if your version wouldn't be less likely to slip.  Normally when you send the doubled line through the Overhand loop you continue on forward and over the hook, but here we see you turn the line back in the opposite direction and then go over the hook from the opposite side.  That little extra half twist might be important.

Awesome video! What are your thoughts on the cinch and snell knots? I'm trying to teach my 11 year old the easiest yet most effective way. Personally I think kids don't have the finger dexterity to tie the snell, as even I have trouble with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Good knot, I'd put a simple knot at the end of the string when done tying it to ensure it doesn't slip any more

please ...  show me a better, stronger, and a more simple knot to tie...  I have used the palomar knot to fish anywhere from bluegill and trout to giant groupers and yellowtail.
