Best Knot!! I've always used the single and never had it slip but for an extra second of time I will double it up next time.

you really don`t need to double your  lines into the Eye . At time that`s juts too hard to do . Just run your tag in into the eye and run it through again and you will have a double line in your eye of the hook. Its a lot easier than folding the line and having to thread it into the line .

I remember when braided line first came on the scene, there were only a couple of knots that would hold, the palomar knot being one of those and the mfgs were recommending a drop of super glue on the finished knot due to the characteristics of the dacron line, if only a few more hours of knot r & d and the problem would have been solved :-)

A single Palomar will slip when using braided line.

I have tried to tie this for my Alabama rig but the line does not slide down. help please these things cost to much to loose. I end up with a loop in it

And just to clarify, will a -single palomar- stay tight when using copoly mono lines? Specifically 12#-25#test mono. How about 12#-25# Flouro?

TF- why would someone use a double palomar knot, when a single palomar knot works just as well?
