Before watching this video, I had difficulty grasping the differences between each IV problem. The teaching you provided of IV complications and management was very detailed, informative, and clear. Thank you, Cathy!

Very informative and easy to understand. i was looking for a video about RN Responsibilities and IV infusion. This video helps me to remember because if you understand the complications, you can understand RN responsibilities.

Did any of your elderly patients seem confused, disoriented after they woke up in the am after Benadryl at night, though you probably never gave it, being an excellent "super-nurse" (similar to Supergirl). It wasn't recommended for the past 10 yrs or so for elderly, I brought this up to a pharmaceutical company and they ostracized me for it...AGS American Geriatric society has noted it is to be avoided for those over really 55...thanks for all the excellent videos, this one and IV catheters have been exceptional.

i wanted to ask if the term "infiltration" can refer to both vesicant and non vesicant. So, if the case is specifically ask infiltration with vesicant that would be "extravasation" but if not vesicant, the answer would be infiltration"? am I right your response is highly appreciated because I want to clarify if the term infiltration is strictly refers to leakage of non vesicant fluid or it could be both

I had an iv of buscapan for pains in my body. When the nurse put the drip in I started to lose my vision, and I could hear them saying he is very clammy. Next thing I know they are wiping me down, and injecting me and hooking me up to an ecg. They continued to check my vitals for hours. They gave me something in another drip and injected my stomach to stop blood clotting. My question - why did this happen? Does this happen alot with buscapan?
