For those saying "nah she can just kill light" but here is the problem she wanted to save misa from danger, misa is a fucking Kira stan so if she kills light as well then Rem's death would mean absolutely nothing since Misa would get depressed if light died and commit suicide something that did happen when light died. She most likely understood that killing light would also lead to Misa's death thus she didn't write his name

Yall are forgetting the Only reason Rem is letting light stay alive is because she wants Misa to be happy and because she cares for Misa’s happiness so much She’s not able to kill light/Kira also if she were to kill light Misa wouldn’t be happy and would more then likely commit suicide without her name being written in a death note; butttt if REM were to kill Misa (if Misa told Rem to kill her)and have her put some important information like “Yagami is Kira” Then light would still die bcs he’s caught and Ryuk would have to write his name down (also he’d loose) our precious L would still be alive, and Misa and Rem would die happy; since she and light used the notebook they would be together in neither heaven or hell..
