Since IZUMI Super Toughness KAI is for bicycle racing, it seems that rust prevention performance is not taken into account.

KAI is meant for olympic indoor racing tho. It's meant to resist high levels of stress, not corrosion resistance.
This is honestly comparing apples and oranges.

For daily use you don't really need performance parts. Cyclists love to spend money for diminishing returns.

I live near the beach and use KMC EPT chains. They work very well. I didn’t do the salt water rust test but I took the tail end that was left over after putting one on my indoor trainer and left it outside in the weather for well over a year (probably closer to two years) and only got some minor surface rust that wiped off easily with some lube. I’m not sure if the rust was really from the chain or some other metal contamination that I got on the chain. (It was on my unprotected outdoor workbench and if I did any grinding like sharpening a mower blade or anything, it got metal filings and dust on it.) I believe it’s a nickel boron plating or something similar.

And the one on my fat bike that I ride on the beach is still going strong after many hours right next to the ocean. I do rinse the bike off every time I get home but the chain just keeps going like it was never abused even when I find rust spots on the cassette.

YBN Teflon chains are the most rust resistant and cost effective.
For faster rust testing results try H2O2, water and salt. It rusts steel in a few minutes

Coming from multispeed bikes, the single speed bike chains look like motorbike chains to me ^_^
