And here I am with a cheapo Takara Kabuto, dragged out of a dumpster, with a bunch of spare parts thrown at it. Heavy cheap gaspipe frame with an old spare carbon seatpost and bmx seat collar (for some reason..), origin8 cockpit and crankset, Weinmann rims with novatec hubs and michelin tires... It's a Frankenstein of a bike, but it's mine. I would absolutely have more fun on a proper frameset, but I still enjoy my trash

I've looked into Wabi bikes several times over the last two years and they are permanently sold out of my sizes. You are doing a great job promoting them :)

Zach, I haven’t got the opportunity to ride fixed. however, I got extremely frustrated with my multi speed for multiple reasons. The straw that broke the camel’s back, was the fact that my rear derailleur hanger stripped out and I actually tried zip tying the RD to the hole (which worked) but being the over analytic person I am, which obsesses over the minimalist detail, I obtained an ss freewheel cog and let me tell you something, it changed my entire attitude and love for riding all over again. I don’t think I even have to explain the feeling because I know you understand. I’m still on the fence about going fixed because of safety reasons, rural little town population 30k is the LEAST amount of bicycle infrastructure, but if it wasn’t for you and your channel I would probably not even gave the single speed a minute of my time. Thank you Zach, you don’t know me, but always remember that you have a positive impact of more lives than you will ever know.

I purchased a Black Label and then a few months later a new crank set from State. I had no issues with the quality of any orders I made however I know if there was an issue State would make it right. I stripped an axle, contacted State to get some spec. information, and they told me since I had a warranty they would just send me a new wheel. I told them it was my fault and they didn't have to do that but they sent it anyway.

Thanks man, after my upgraded Cordoba got stolen last month I copped a State 6061 Black Label v2 based on your prior video. As you pointed out some minor quality control issues but nothing major, love the bike.

Im a beginner fixed gear rider and I just built up a $300 bike. Its pretty nice IMO, especially riding around town doing errands. Granted its only on a cheap steel frame, its enough for me. This is coming from someone who rides an enduro mountain bike around town lmao

Over 100K subscriber Zach, post fixed gear trend. Excellent. Just want to weigh in on the Wabi cycles, as a non affiliated long term owner of of both a Wabi Classic, and Wabi special. These bikes are hands down, second to none when it come to street use steel fixed gear bikes. Never a problem, and zero complaints.A true modern value overload, especially in today's market. Happy trails y'all.

What a lot of people don't realize is that you first tested and fell in love with Wabi before they became a sponsor. You're not like the usual channel where you rave about the sponsor just because they sponsor you. You genuinely love their bikes.

I just bought my IRO MARK V back after having sold it 5 years ago. Tried a couple other bikes in between, wasn’t the same. Sweet reunion 🥺 Reynolds 631, I didn’t appreciate it enough the first time around.

Ive ridden the Kilo TT for years, mine might be worth $1000 but what you get of the box is still great!
I've followed you for years and love your content. You should consider a single speed video (if there are enough differences to warrant one) or commuting bikes. Like a single speed or cyclocross build with a panier rack or something. I have to admit its been a few years since i road religiously it would be cool to see what new commuter options are out there.

I bought a GT Gutterball years ago, around 2012 or so... Best Bang for your Buck!
I also got it on sale for $600 out the door! Still ride it. Same Cranks, Same everything...
Just had a tune up, Spokes / Rims Trued / tightened, new rear bearings, bottom bracket, Chain,
tries and Brake pads. Rides like New!

I had a 6ku and didn’t give me a problem using until about a year and a half later…. I wrote it from 15-20 miles daily … now I made modification… moved up to 50t, omnium cranks + gxp bottom bracket, carbon fiber fork, obviously clipless, breathable seat (crotch cutout), and I’m still happy with my bike 🚲

Just need a 'Worst Complete Fixed Gear Bikes for Every Budget' video now so people know which models to avoid although must admit I'm happy with cheapo high tensile steel fixed gear bikes myself and Shimano still do loose ball bearing hubs which are easy to maintain and very reliable. They have larger ball-bearings I believe than typical sealed bearing hubs so if greased and adjusted properly should be excellent hubs over the long term. I bought a cheap fixed gear bike in the UK which is very similar to the Jamis Beatnik using a 1040 steel frame I believe.

State is my local so seeing so many pictures of their fixed on here makes me so happy

I have a State klunker that I converted from coaster brake to rim brake and I love it.

The best bikes are built by the rider, full of quality components taken from random bikes that are ready to retire, then combined into a machine brought to life by your own hands and ridden hard just short of your own death.
🤘💀
