After this video went viral and was used as a prime example of cyclists disobeying street rules in shanghai. The shanghai police fined this young man for all the rules he broke in the video and made tutorial videos for cycling hand gestures and signaling on a bike which also went viral as people realized the potential danger.

Closing the rear view mirror of a running car in the middle of the road is not just moronic, but dangerous to everyone on your lane. There’s no way you can justify doing that. I ride a bicycle to work every day and I would never, ever do that in any situation. I also drive a car and I would feel blinded if my driver side rear view mirror is suddenly unavailable in traffic.

ive been riding fixed for over a decade and consider myself an excellent rider. Here is what not to do. 1. touching other peoples cars. do you want someone touching your bike while you’re riding? no! 2. getting unnecessary close to running into shit then swerving out of the way. this ones pretty self explanatory. 3. swerving side to side for no reason. its fun until you hit a patch of sand you didn’t see and the front wheel slides out.

I'm a cyclist myself, and what's in the video is indeed great skill, but bad behaviour. Practice to respect other road users, it's essential to establish—us, cyclists—good reputation. Oh, and please don't leave your helmet at home! Cheers and keep pedalling, buddy! ;)
