Australia fights UK alcohol tax

Australia continues to fight a proposed alcohol tax from the United Kingdom which seeks to increase the tax on beverages with an alcohol content higher than 11.5 per cent.

Trade Minister Dan Tehan said he has written to the British Chancellor to register the industry's concerns.

Mr Tehan said the Australian government will try to highlight the difficulties the United Kingdom will have in implementing the proposed changes.

It will impact 93 per cent of wine imported from Australia.

I think the uk should ban Australian goods until they stop abusing their citizens. I’ve definitely stopped buying them as I have New Zealand and Canada

well australia had no problem with putting tax on alcohol and smokes here which is crippling some people, but hey..

UK and AU officials need to get innovative with reciprocal tax/trade deals to offer mutual support. UK could drop all tax on AU wine (UK doesn't produce much wine) and AU could drop the luxury car tax on UK produced vehicles (AU doesn't produce many motor vehicles). No hard done - both sides benefit.

@brenda alton yes but many of the hollywood AFRICAN AMERICAN celebrities dont look black they look light skin & mixed race.ebony mag says they use this lotion fer.la which makes them look far more light skin & mixed race and not black anymore. Im not surprised everybody seems to change their appearance these days.
