Agrarian Skies: Hardcore Quest Episode 21 - ME Assembly

In this episode, I upgrade my metal production to be more productive and CPU efficient, and I take my first steps into Applied Energistics Automated Crafting.

Agrarian Skies: Hardcore Quest is a Minecraft gamepak by Jadedcat, available on the Feed the Beast launcher. As the sole survivor of a cataclysm you must rebuild and repopulate the planet while defeating minions of darkness that leak through from the nether realms. You start with nothing, and must create an entire world's worth of materials to reboot your civilization.

Forget everything you know about Minecraft. This no mere modpack, but a full-on gamepack. No vanilla tools. Starvation is a real threat. Food needs that cannot be solved by planting three wheat. Try not to die in a new way to play from the depths of Jadedcat's twisted mind. This world might not want you dead, but it will giggle like mad if you die.

You can set a fuzzy export bus to export encoded patterns directly into the MAC. When you encode a new pattern you can just throw it into the terminal, close the GUI and re-pen it, and your recipe is ready to use. This can then be done from any terminal in your ME system. For this reason I have a pattern encoder by every terminal in each ME system I build.

You might have figured this out, but just in case there are others where I am in the series right now I'll say it anyway. lol

fluid crafting chamber - place patterns in here that you have created in your pattern provider and as long as you have the liquid in your system, you can request a craft of the item from your main access terminal (or crafting terminal, in your case).  For example, I created a pattern of water bucket = fresh water onto a blank pattern.  When I put that into the fluid crafting chamber, I was able to request fresh water (which you can then use in other recipes, ie salt and is no longer considered a liquid.  Hope that helps!

Is the hopper necessary on top of the pulverizer, or is it just to prevent the dust from beeing in your system?
For normal recepice it's easier to shiftclick with NEI, so you don't need to carry all this this stuff with you.

You can also auto-fill the recipes from NEI to the pattern encoder.

Also.. I'm sure you know this by now but Smelteries don't actually cause lighting updates. For example: If you have a tank of lava, a window of lava etc, any of the smeltery blocks.. mobs can still spawn inside of an empty one if you don't have other light sources, because it will be dark. The windows (& 'Seared Glass, if I recall correctly) do count as transparent blocks so they'll let outside light in, but even filling them with lava or energised glowstone or any of the molten medals will not create light. 

but As these are so old, I'm sure you've figured it out by now. ^^

The biggest help for fps while recording? Put minecraft on a nice samsung ssd, even if you didn't self build your rig installing a ssd is very simple. Then, keep your recording software on a separate drive. Each program has its own drive and all is happy

I'm pretty sure you can just shift click recipes from NEI into the pattern encoder, making things a lot easier!

Interesting.. I wonder why the aluminium ore dust seems to be the only one that can't be pulverised.
