A quick demonstration of how to compare two columns of data from separate workbooks in Microsoft Excel 2016. This has many uses but this is the one I use the most often..

I need to compare two rather large files in excel for duplicates for my job. I found your video. I don't know anything about IF formulas, and found the video easy to follow. But have a question. When you completed the filter and showed the unique and duplicate values, it only showed the numbers that started with 101, and therefore did not include all the items in distributor sheet. and the prices were different on a couple of the duplicate item numbers. so how did you know which was the correct pricing? While the formula seems simple enough, there seems to be information missing in the final filter. So now am confused again.

How would we go about formatting the "Unique" or "Duplicate" fields into a dollar amount so we could total up the columns? For example instead of "unique" it would be $19 and "duplicate" would be $29. Then I would want to total the column. With the current formula, it will not let me total if I just change them.
