Alpha A. Fowler III, MD, of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond discusses development of a mouse model of sepsis and ARDS and the basis for moving evaluation of the effects of high-dose vitamin C in sepsis from the animal model into the CITRIS-ALI trial, a randomized trial with human participants. There are doctors in NY that are infusing asorbic acid right now. Let's hope this works for covid-19 patients

Where in the world have you been? Mega doses of vitamin C has been given for at least 75 years with amazing results. This protocol will reawaken vitamin C usage. A few months ago I was hospitalized with unusual symptoms. My wife brought some liposomal vitamin C. We had no idea that it might help although it was a God send. I still take vitamin C daily.

My aunt was in the hospital with sepsis 2 years (and 12 days) ago and I insisted that they give her massive doses of C and they refused and said it was about the same as snake oil!! They said all I could do was give them the okay to pull the plug!!

When looking at Citris-Ali results it is essential to also read the editorial letter by Prof. Fowler et al in Jama Vol 313 number 8. When Sofa is adjusted for 'survivorship bias' the result is positive instead of negative.

What part of high dose do you not understand. what a waste of time and resources giving 50mg/kg of vitamin C and calling it 'high dose'. This was NOT a test of HIGH DOSE vitamin C IV vs. placebo. I can only assume this is an intentional oversight.

The two problems with the CITRIS-ALI study were the significant delay in starting the IV Vitamin C and the fact that the SOFA scores of the dead in the placebo group were ommitted. So, if they had been included, he admits in another video, it would have likely been significant.

BRAVO to all the research being done on natural products for health.

also, I would like to see a video with research doctors on the differences of using the powdered form vs liposomal vs intravenously

Natural Path Doctors have been saying this for years. However the AMA has relegated them to the "Back of the bus" as far as health and nutrition goes. Fire your MD, and call a Natural Path Dr. immediately.

The dose he gave mice is equivalent to 13 gram dose for a 150 pound person

Bad study beacause they use Vit C 8 g only
50 to 200 g are necessary

maybe I"m missing something. So why not have an add'l batch of mice, like the ones that died, but give them the Vit C as well before death?. Isn't it possible it would have worked with the ones that died as well? ??

This is another example of a bogus case study of vitamin C. The doctors "high-dose" clinical trial was only 5, 000 mg every 6 hours for a 220 lb man. Why didn't he use 10x this amount?

It surprised me that this trial failed to show improvement in SOFA and biomarkers. I know that analysis has pointed out that they waited until serious ARDS had developed before administering 200mg/kg/day; but i was expecting at least some effect.
Hopefully we see some additional work done, the only thing really saving it was that secondary measures like hospital stay were very positive.

So if you want to save your mouse, you need a wee bit of vitamin C?
