Most birth is

*Is Mother FULL term? 36+ weeks?
*CALL 911 EMS to report emergency childbirth and get help if resources are available.
*TELL Mother you have training in Childbirth Response and can help. Reassure her you will do your best to help.
*Remove unnecessary people, assign tasks to those able to help.
*Create private space for the birth to happen as you can
*Collect absorbent clean towels clothes to provide place to birth and dry Mother and baby afterwards
*Remove drafts from room if possible
*Locate receptacle for Mother to VOID or VOMIT
* Gather food, water, blankets
*Stay GROUNDED PEACEFUL AND CALM
*KEEP CORD ATTACHED (In rare cases you may have to burn the cord if you have nothing sterile and must do so but in most cases allowing it to stay attached until it falls off on its own is BEST IN POST DISASTER LOW RESOURCE SETTINGS.
*SKIN TO SKIN VITAL Mother without bra or top, baby only diaper on.
* a `few seconds of Posteral drainage can help mucus drain
* Breastfeeding VITAL -encourage layed back breast feeding
*Keep Mother and BABy together
*IF applicable: Label baby and Mother together
