Having been at this for over *cough* 30 years, this is absolutely correct. My day job is on Windows, and I transition between Qt/QML, WPF, WTL (like MFC but leaner), and C++ and C# engine code. I look stuff up every day, sometimes every hour. You can’t remember everything, but as long as you understand what you’re copying and pasting, you *are* building a mental model of how things work, how the parts talk to each other.

Indeed. I've been working with Javascript since around 2003 and since 2012 professionally. Now, after three years using just react I quite often have to refer to the W3 manual to remember how exactly basic JS things had to be typed, .split(), String() and basically anything related to arrays (pop, shift, unshift are such terrible names for the things they do, as I type, I can't remember which is which)
