A qualified nutritionist and dietician should do bachelor's and masters in nutrition. A 3 month or 6 months certification does not make you a nutritionist. The govt is coming up with strict rules that anyone who just did certification for few months is not qualified to give nutritional advice. Salaries start from 10k-15k per month for freshers. People who have done certifications for just few months are called "QUACKS" who are not qualified to play with people's health knowing just half baked information on nutrition.

Nutritionist is not a regulated term, anyone with a nutrition certificate can be a nutritionist.
A registered dietitian however, needs to have a bachelors or masters with DPD course, after that you need 1200 supervised practice hours that is granted through an internship.
Once you compete that, you are now qualified to take the CDR exam which will grant you the RD credentials.

Avg starting salary for RD is 55-65k per year

Is she really a Nutritionist, that too in India???? For ur kind information let me tell u that only Bachelors and certification courses doesn't makes u a nutritionists, you will have to go though Master along with various diploma and Nutrition and health related certified courses and most importantly 1 or 2 hospital internships then u will be able to find a job of Dietitian that too with a salary of hardly 15k-20k monthly. And for the salary that u r talking about (30-40k ) u will have to be a Registered Dietitian that too after 5 years of job experience and cracking the Registered Dietitian exam.

U can check naukri/ indeed about reality of job opportunities in this field ... Payscale given as per years of experience. Job openings get fewer / even rare if you are contesting for higher packages like above 7LPA.

Side hustles she said pay a major role in earning better compared to employed scenario. Various skills of yours play a role like marketting, sales etc. apart from domain knowledge/ expertise.

Every field has top players but remember not all, hence choose by understanding and your analysis than words you hear.

Doing 6 month nutrition courses does not qualify someone to be a nutritionist. Especially not a dietitian. People wanting doctors with the highest level of experience while settling for a nutritionist who doesn't even have 6 months of education 😏
