It's almost like Russia's biggest 'ally' is also their biggest threat.
Not some Ukrainian farmers.

China: Not allies, but better than allies.
Russia: Friends?
China: No, our vassal.

At this point I think the Salvation Army would be a tough opponent for Russia

If this happens, the Russian military would be in for a *really* bad time. Especially now. And there's a worrying possibility that this would lead Russia to resort to nuclear weapons.

Russian and China go to war.
Most of the world: *grabs popcorn*

I'm starting to think Russia only became the second strongest military in the world because of their nuclear arsenal and nothing more.

Without watching the video: Russia would very likely use nuclear weapons, just like if NATO attacked Russia.

If China attacked Russia, the US would likely levy the same punishing sanctions on China that they put on Russia for invading Ukraine. Not only would it be viewed as fair, but it would also be in the best interest of the US and their Allie’s to do so. The US and many of their allies view China as their biggest threat, would would act to prevent China from expanding itself further and gaining a greater strategic advantage if/when the CCP feels like attacking the west, or invading Taiwan.

Russian having superior air defence systems is questionnable to say the least, Ukrainian drones where able to bomb air port 200 km south of Moskou, without been detected .

What's most interesting about this hypothetical conflict is that one _EXTREMELY_ significant and unpredictable factor would be the response by other nations, especially the US.

As problematic as Russia is, the US likely wouldn't allow China to militarily take over the Russian Far East, because that would make them a bigger threat in the Pacific especially with regards to Japan. This is likely why China has been engaged in establishing its presence there culturally and economically, as well as pushing themes of nationalism and unification in recent years.

China knows it's better to take that region under the pretense of supporting a region's attempt at independence _from_ Russia, as it's the same reason everyone supports the Ukraine now.

Any military conflict there would almost certainly bring the US in just to give them an excuse to establish a foothold in that region to keep it independent from China OR Russia if possible.

There are a lot of specific balances of power because of the China, Russia, US dynamics and anything that impacts two of them will ALWAYS have some ramifications for the third.

A war between the two countries is unlikely. It's not unthinkable, but it's quite hard for it to happen

I would definitely give China the upper hand here
Their main disadvantage is that they haven't fought a modern war, but neither has Russia at this point

Russia has depleted its military in Ukraine and pulled much if of its military forces from the eastern oblasts that are ethnic minorities. So China would initially meet little resistance

Considering how easily Ukraine is hitting Russian air bases inside of Russia, I wouldn't put a lot of weight on the strength of their air defenses either

Early on in the war with Ukraine it was noted by a lot of people that Putin wouldn't have done it without Xi's approval or rather a promise that China wouldn't take the opportunity to take over eastern Russia

Russia has neither the man power or the equipment to wage war on two fronts right now

Which only leaves the nuclear option
It is one thing to threaten to hit Ukraine, who gave up their nukes, but something totally different to go against another nuclear armed nation
If Putin's generals aren't already considering plans to remove him from power, they would most likely consider it if he started issuing orders to start a nuclear war with China that neither could win

The one saving grace for Putin in the equation of why China would want to take over eastern Russia is that they want Taiwan first, but that is a whole other mess that they may not be able to handle considering Biden's promise that the U.S. would get involved militarily

One wonders whether Taiwan would take the opportunity at some point in the war to declare independence.

i would be surprised if China hasn't thought about acquiring the land it lost to Russia during their last conflict.

Judging by the comments, if there was a China-Russia conflict, it would be dubbed “the Popcorn War”

Reminds me of the Molotov-Ribbentrop agreement in the 1930s when Germany and the Soviet Union were besties, until they weren't.
