Personally, I think Russia has to fragment for this scenario. Back in teh late 1960's, the Soviet Union made it clear to China that they would not confront Chinese tanks with Soviet tanks. The Soviets would simply go straight to nukes. I suspect Russia even more so.

I don't hjink China wants Russia to lose the war, but I suspect they want Russia weakened enough to fall within the Chinese Hegemony, but still strong enough to contribute politically, economically and militarily, rather than being dead weight.

I remember a couple years ago hearing how Putin was speedrunning Russia down the road to becoming a vassal of China. Starting to look like an accurate prediction.

Wikipedia says that only about 15 thousand Chinese people live permanently in Russia. That is a tiny number.

Don't forget China is also very interested in the Arctic. Thanks to the melting of the icecaps, a lot of new resources will be accessible, and China even recently wanted it to be declared a "near Arctic nation" so that it got a seat at the table in getting access to those resources. This claim is absurd at first glace given their distance from the north, but if their long term plans are to seize the eastern Russian coasts, their claim as a "near Arctic nation" feels much less absurd, and more like a subtle threat to eastern Russia.

There can be no real alliance between two superpowers, that's for sure.

With an ally like this, you don't need enemies.

Is nobody going to talk about how he literally said "Russia's war to defeat Russia" at 0:33

Interestingly, from China's point of view, Russia could be seen as just another western country that occupies territory in Asia in form of colonies. Yep, Russia essentially is a western country with its roots and main territory in Europe. It just forgot that over the grim Soviet and Cold War times. And Russia is the last big colonial power which is doomed to fall.

so, china is pulling a Russia with "but there's a significant ammount of chinese people living there! we must protect them and bring them back!"

...on Russia, that would be nothing short of poetic justice

This is the scariest geopolitical shift scenario to me. Russia has the world's largest reserve of pristine forests and some of the most well-protected wildlife. Clear lakes, endless forests, strictly protected natural reserves. If China gets there, it's over. They don't care about nature.

I think this war grinding Russia is in the interest of both China and NATO. For China it'll make them a client state de facto, providing at a premium much needed energy and food for China. Their best interest would be to provide a trickle of aid to keep Russia in the war as long as possible.
