Why Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine is a Disaster for China

Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has been a complete disaster for China. The powerful Eurasian alliance it once hoped to forge with its Russian ally is now severely unbalanced and, more importantly, China’s leadership is now seeing its future plans of easily seizing Taiwan slipping away.

‌War is a hard teacher and just because a country is a major power does not mean the world can’t live without it. Just ask Putin.

I decided for myself that the Chinese consideration to invade Taiwan is enough for me to take out all my investments in Chinese companies. Gradually I will completely pull out from Chinese shares.
And apparently I am not the only one doing so.

The extremely high proportion of one child families is another factor that makes an invasion attempt dangerous for China. Even if the invasion were successful there would be a destabilising effect on the mainland from troop losses and casualties, not only because a family would lose it’s future, but also because the older members of the family would lose support in their old age.

An invasion of Taiwan would go horribly for China. The semiconductor plants are already primed for detonation, one of the main reasons they want Taiwan. And an invasion would have everybody disappear into the mountains in the east. A war wouldn't be quick. Like in Ukraine, it would last months or years.

A big problem with the introduction, is whether Russia should be considered Europe's largest country at all, given how a large part of its territory is rather in Asia. But the bigger mistake of the introduction is China, having the largest number of inhabitants, even though it was reported in April that India had overtaken China in that respect.

A large portion of China's military is needed keeping its own population controlled . China is not free to use all of it's military in conquest . Also most of China's population is along the coast .
