I do alot of old commercial masonry building. I hate windows and historical districts. Had to get vinyl stripe put on windows once. Loose mineral wool in air gap below grade really helps. It enhances wick action too. Masonry loves to wick moisture. We put timber frames in a lot of the old urm buildings. Insulate rafter pockets, rafters, and ceilings.

very excited to watch this one and dig through your library. We do a lot of deep energy retrofits and also try to avoid spray foam - we still need it for tricky areas (around band joists and tricky intersections). Also loving the lack of natural gas. The happiest moment is when the gas department comes to take the existing service out!

How did you attach the mesh to the rigid foam in order to parge it? I'm guessing the foam has been treated with borates and attached with some kind of adhesive to the foundation..

shut off natural gas, awesome! was there a choice of spray foam that included HFO blowing agent (1000 lbs less GHG)?
