Thank you, I’ve had DeWalt for years. I just bought the Drill/impact combo kit. Both batteries were giving me a steady (indicating fully charged) red light.
Yet both batteries were obviously powerless.

OMG! THANK YOU so much! This is my very first cordless drill and I did the same simple mistake. It was plugged in for over 2 hours and I didn't know what's wrong (since it was a solid red light). Now I replugged it properly and it is blinking and charging correctly.

This saved me from buying a new charger. I thought mine has been bad from the beginning because it would sometimes charge and sometimes not.

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE FLIPPIN' There are not enough words to express how grateful I am that you made this video, thank you sooo much!!! What really had me convinced it was the battery at fault was because one of my batteries would charge fine while just resting in there in the incorrect, not clicked in, position (a 4ah battery I have) it was only my 5ah that was giving me a problem. Sometimes it would briefly show the orange temperature problem light and solid red, sometimes it would have the red charging light blink once or twice, then go solid red.
The thing is I had watched about 4 or 5 other videos about DeWalt batteries not charging before I saw this video, none of them mentioned this simple point, I was all prepared to take my battery pack apart and start messing about with it in a very dodgy fashion, no
