Do at your own risk, batteries are dangerous and should be handled with care. This is for entertainment

It worked.. I used thin wires.. started to smell it after about 5 seconds. but I left it in for about 10 seconds.. it's now charging.. thank you..Dewalt 20v 4ah

It worked, I literally left it connected for three seconds. I have a feeling as soon as you see that spark you could probably put it on the charger, but it worked.

I have done this with my batteries before and it works, but I wouldn’t connect for more than 1-2 seconds otherwise heat builds up in the wire and it could damage the battery. Originally I contacted Dewalt, after I mistakenly, completely drained my battery and it wouldn’t charge, and their response was, buy a new battery.

Same here, a 60V on a third party lamp, probably some flow despite device off, or just too long not used….in any case, it now charges again!

Also if you have one, use your power station. Plug your charger into the station with the battery slid in, and it will give it the jump start you need. Then, plug the charger into a regular outlet.

I had 11 of my batteries in storage for a few years and let's just say that was an expensive mistake. Only a few were able to take a charge and those don't work too well anymore

This won’t work most of the time usually 1 cell in the pack goes bad or is leaking

Wow! Thank you! That worked for me! I think I used to light gauge wire cause they got a lil warm but it worked! YT ftw! 👍🏼

You’ll get a lot of inrush current doing this, could damage the cells if they are still fine but just under the minimum voltage. I would get a cheap variable voltage power supply and limit current to 100 or 200 mA and the voltage to half the battery’s nominal and slowly bring it up as it charges.

Don't know about other brands, but dewalt batteries have a fusible link inside then that can blow if they get too hot inside, has happended to me several times. You can take the top cover off and solder it back together and fix it, if this doesn't work

Only do that if you know the Voltage of each cell or at least the total Voltage of the battery pack. Each Cell should have over 3V wich leads to a total voltage of 18V. If the Voltage is below that you need to replace atleast one cell. The equipment you need to repair a bad cell costs more than buying a new one. So keep in mind that something like that only pays out after multiple repairs. I would say you need at least 4 batteries. Repair it or Sell it. Don‘t throw it away!!!

What about the battery that your boost from? Is it OK? Or does it lose power?
