If only DeWalt had made that clear. I bought 2 12AH batteries and took them with the new chainsaw up several miles into the forest to clear some trees off of trails, only to have no working batteries for my chainsaw. Wasted many strenuous hours of my time. Even took my batteries and saw into the DeWalt service center and they gave me 2 new batteries (600.00 value!) which of course had the same problem. Thanks so much for posting this and finally helping me figure it out!

No need to press black button just give it a good push to feel/ hear it locked in.

This is not obvious out of the box and no instructions included with my new 6AH flexvolt battery. Thank you!

Bro i can’t thank you enough. I am usually very good at trouble shooting things. I just bought this exact battery and was about to return it. For those watching this and still having trouble, MAKE SURE you depress the release on the battery fully and do not let go until the battery is fully seated. Nothing is wrong with the battery. I was livid 10 mins ago as i just spent $170 on this battery

I had similar issue on DCB112 with brand new 5Ah battery, thought they had given me some defect one. It's charging now - jesus what a simple fix, why didn't I think of trying that out :D Big thanks!

Thanks for the info. After five hours of the new battery sitting in the charger, I figured out the same. Now, just waiting to see how long it will take to fully charge a 60V 6AH battery.

Thank you for making a video about this. After my pack died I started doing everything manually because it wouldn't charge. I was just searching to buy a replacement till something told me to look up a video about it. Thanks for creating this video.

Thank you. Fixed my issue. I didn't know that I had to push the button in to lock it into the charger to charge. I appreciate your help.

Seriously, they should put that information on the red cap that goes on the battery. I was about to buy a new charger. Thanks for this!

U saved me the biggest headache I’ve just tossed both of my 6ah flexvolt battery’s into the toolbox that I touch the least since I thought I needed some flexvolt specific charger, but the issue for me was that I would plug in the battery and the light would turn off

Thanks so much. I was trying more complicated solutions unnecessarily and getting rid of chargers unnecessarily. Thanks for helping!
