00:04:26 Going into self-protect mode
00:05:37 Mistaking the service industry for the selfless industry

Psychology For is a series geared toward different types of professionals who meaningfully interact with the public, but may not be prepared for the emotional cost. Stylists are expected to naturally have great social skills and be able to practice their craft in a way that is mentally healthy and sustainable. However, similar to people in other service industries, stylists are typically people who 1) care intensely about their clients, 2) have high expectations of themselves, and 3) are attuned to the needs of others. These characteristics are strengths, for the most part, until they start to contribute to burn-out. This playlist is for stylists who would like a helping hand in how to better manage themselves on a day-to-day basis.
