My theory is that most of them can understand and feel the same. The real point - they have a disturbed moral compas due to early childhood experiences.

Thus they grow up moraly deffective. People influence alot from their environment and espec. small children. There is a certain age when the core of personality forms.
so its not a big wonder. Its my personal notion. If they were not emotional, they would not act to hurt.
Schizos and similar kinds maybe do not understand. But they hurt more themselves than others. If they are not morally deffective but really cannot understand and empathize.
