When we first moved to NZ, we had a furnished apartment for the first month. It had just what we needed, no extras. It was WONDERFUL! Then we found a place to live, our shipping container arrived....and we were drowning in stuff! The hardest things for us to let go of is the sentimental things....like printed photos, albums, or gifts that someone special has given to you. One way we are able to say goodbye to some things is we take a picture! We have also come to realize we need FAR less clothes. It then makes me a happier wife with less laundry!

The konmari method totally changed my life for the better. But before than I had already started my home improvement by following the rule of never leaving dirty dishes in the sink. This one rule was a game changer that spread to all areas of my life. It either goes in the dishwasher or gets hand washed immediately. While I’m cooking I can place things in the sink but once the meal is eaten I clean up and never leave dirty dishes in the sink.

Oooh, that is a HUGE project for the week! I really like Konmari folding for clothes, I've been doing that for quite a while now! Decluttering is definitely harder with kids and all their treasures, but I love how your kids are actively playing a big role in your decluttering process!
