I find myself feeling the same way as T Jenkins post below. I agree/disagree with some of the Democratic values and some of the Republican values. I feel I am stuck in the middle and have to choose between the lesser of two evils.

Within this two party system there are also two additional schools of thought that overlap. Establishment vs anti-establishment. As a moderate right individual who is anti-establishment, I find I have much more in common with peers on the left who are also anti-establishment than establishment Republicans. It really is time for a shakeup of this two party system in America

Made sure to be clear that Democrats were not extreme leftists, yet didn't make the distinction with Republicans not being extremist right wingers. That pretty much sums up both parties. One is an extremist party, and the other is more centered.

All right, but when it comes to lgbtq rights, we republicans see it as pointless because why give a specific group rights when Americans, regardless of their sexual orientation or race, are given rights in general. There is no need to give special rights to certain groups of Americans.

I’m republican on everything except for abortion and gay rights. When it comes to the death penalty I’m on the fence. I’m guessing maybe this puts me in the center 🤔

military
religion/social issues
economics
heath insurance

So if I'm correct, the Republican party is the more traditional party that sticks to traditional morals, and supports government decisions and government control. And the Democratic party is the party that is more open to the differnet opinions and decsions that citizens have and make, and they want to keep conflict at a minimum.

I would love for someone to explain to me, you have a two party system and all they do is blame each other, while never taking responsibility, it literally makes it impossible, to resolve any issue this country faces, or make a difference by voting and the list goes on, so WHY, do the American people keep going through the motions and playing into the government's hand?
I mean, I understand that people will justify the government's actions as a whole, by blaming one of the two individual parties... I understand, that people don't want to admit or accept, that the establishment in which they trusted, might be swindling them, but at some point, we probably should, just saying.
