Hey,
Please make a video for using Synology NAS as
1. Storage server for home or small office.
2. Map NAS as network drive in all Windows computers in network.
3. Set scheduled, automatic, incremental, and encrypted back up *FROM* NAS *TO* Google Drive. To protect my data from *Ramsomware, fire at my home etc* (while making sure that Google can't read my data).
4. Restore Data.

So it's been a few years, is this still the best way to do this?

Hmmm, this is NOT REPLACING YOUR WINDOWS FILE SERVER. This is just moving a SHARE from your windows server to synology NAS. Replacing windows server (running AD, DNS, DHCP, etc) requires migrating the AD etc so that u can TURN OFF Windows Server. There is a "Migrate from a Windows Server Domain" in Synology Knowledge Center... but info is very limited.

Now we can shut down the windows server? What about the DNS, DHDP and AD services?

Hi.

I have been using Robocopy for data migration. Never heard about FastCopy. Is that good tool?

can't seem to figure out how the file sharing works. Is my data being transferred to users directly from my NAS (similar to torrent file sharing) or is it first being uploaded to Synology servers and then downloaded from their servers to the user (similar to Dropbox, Google drive etc)? In short, will I have to pay for a Presto File Server License to use the file sharing system?

With Windows File Server I have indexing services for Windows (e.g. I can search very fast in the content of thousands of Office and PDF files and Image metadata).
Do I have the same feature with Synology NAS?
