Absolutely delicious addition to our family’s salad: sliced heart of palm, chopped English cucumber, sliced cherry tomatoes, bits of feta cheese and now picked red onion slices. Yummy!

I made this and its amazing. Such a great flavor add when making last minute sandwiches, these pickled red onions are amazing to have ready in the refrigerator and they last a time.

I suggest you use the peppercorns at the bottom, otherwise it is hard to separate them when it is time to eat it (unless of course if you like to eat peppercorns)

When making this, Try adding just a sli've Tell me what of habanero pepper, It's not gonna create heat, However will impart a flavor of greatness. Enjoy.

I had some Alessi raspberry blush vinegar. It gave the onions a sweet flavor without adding sugar. I use shallots btw

Excellent video! I've found that if I soak the onion in the brine in a bowl for about 15 minutes then transfer it to the jar it allows me to keep the slices whole. I use tongs then pour the brine over.

lately, i’ve been making and keeping pickled red onions and pickled okra (separate) on hand. tastes delicious and great as is or on sandwiches, with chicken, cottage cheese, etc.

These r very common here in India. We also do it with whole baby onions. They r lovely accompliment to curries.

I've used distilled white vinegar, and it sounds like a sacrelege, but it's just as good and delicious as any more costly vinegar, except the $1000 vinigars in Itly.
