Jamie can be forgiven for everything like the asparagus in the carbonara, because he knew how to prepare the carbonara cream and the trick of the pasta cooking water and incorporated the cream away from the heat like a true Italian, which is not to be taken for granted.❤🍝🇮🇹

I was just listening to the interview on BBC R4, hosted by the incomparable Kirsty Young.
I have followed Jamie's programmes and admired his work with young people, as well as salivating and cooking with his ideas for donkeys' years, but I did not realise that he is dyslexic.
Of course, the public understanding of dyslexia has improved a bit, but there's still a lot of room for improvement.
I was minded to tell of my v dear friend at school, Duncan. This guy's dyslexic also, and was seriously marked down at school, in despite of clear evidence of a huge talent for electronics etc.. Well this is a feelgood story, so how do you think Duncan managed to put not only egg but possibly the whole asparagus carbonara all over the school's face?
He only went and won the BBC Pebble Mill Young Engineer Of The Year competition..
So you can clearly see, as I have been shown time after time, some of the most dynamic and able people have dyslexia, dysgraphia etc..
This asparagus recipe alone is worth a subscription.
