I’m amazed at the food they serve to hospital patients. And the cafeteria is a joke. Absolutely insane.

Here’s what I do and I’m 68 years old, I’m healthy and my numbers are perfect.... I do OMAD,
(One meal a day) I don’t deprive myself from anything, but I do watch my sweets and I don’t do fast food or junk food. But I eat practically everything else. The trick is fasting, you need to give your body a rest from constantly digesting food. Autophagy, learn about that, they found that fasting mice live longer than mice eating three times a day.

I was a vegetarian/frequent vegan/grainatarian for 35 years. I ate whole grains, tofu, lots and lots of fruit, canola and other seed oils & etc. At the end I was 35 pounds heavier than I wanted to be and was pre-diabetic. I had arthritis, gum disease, and lots and lots of illness from inflammation. I started to wonder how long it would be before I got Alzheimers. I read the book Wheat Belly and investigated Paleo and Keto. Now I eat tons of veges, meat, all the eggs I want, lots of coconut oil, very little fruit, virtually no carbs, absolutely no sugar and no dairy. The pre-diabetes is absolutely gone. I lost the weight. Now at 71 my blood glucose levels are perfect, I take no medicines, and I can't remember the last time I had a cold. Gum disease has gone away, and no more cavities (Hey, I still have some teeth). Government dietary guidelines are formed from corporate greed. These guidelines look so absurd to me now.

This is exactly why I'm majoring in nutrition and minoring in microbiology as a pre-med.

Fantastic segment. Dr. Hyman is very informative. I like he’s not pitching a diet, instead he’s promoting a set of food principals. I’ve never understood how something as simple as eating right has lead to the dieting industry, though I think food education is important.

I’ve done low carb for twenty years. I have cut down in meat and added more fat, loving my life! I recently add supplements and probiotics and feel better than ever. (I am new to organic) this is such an important message. Thank you so much for waking people up!

My late father of 96 years always told me to just eat the foods you like in "moderation" and it makes sense to me.

I always struggled with gaining weight no matter what I did in the gym or how much i ate. As soon as I started to talk to my body and cells and prayed it listened to me and I feel happy that I'm bulked up now with my weight progress.

Just eat REAL HIGH NUTRIENT food that grows in the earth..and balanced....real veggies...meat...fruit... not processed packaged stuff...and watch portions. It's that easy.

Mark is SUCH a good spokesperson for medicine aimed at healing, for lifestyle, and of course, for nutrition aimed at prevention. Plus, he looks the part—super healthy. Notice how his thinking is crystal clear. No gaps in memory. Much respect for this man, especially given what he overcame years ago with his own health problems.

BTY, at MINUTE 3:00, although it's true that MD's don't see [notice] nutritional deficiency diseases, dentists do. And who is a typical dental patient with one of the following conditions: scurvy (C + bioflavonoids); beriberi (B1); pellagra (B3); Rickets (D3); and B6 deficiency? Alcoholics, amphetamine addicts, anorexics and poor people in big city food deserts.

Chicken love grass and leafy greens if it's available, along with seeds and insects. Pasture raised chickens are the healthiest to eat, just like grass fed beef.
