Check out "Mathematics of Classical & Quantum Physics" by Byron & Fuller for examples and motivations. It's above introductory courses, but very readable on advanced topics.

Chapter 7 "Green's Functions", Chapter 8 "Introduction to Integral Equations" and Ch. 9 "Integral Equations in Hilbert Space" are particularly enlightening regarding boundary value problems, etc.

Hey, wikipedia says Laplace transform is injective but if you have function:
f1(t)=sin(t)+cos(t)
it can be also written as:
f2(t)=sqrt(2)cos(t-pi/4)
then:
F1(s)=1/(s^2+1) + s/(s^2+1)
F2(s)=sqrt(2)*s/(s^2+1) * e^(-s*pi/4)
