What is VECTOR CALCULUS?? **Full Course Introduction**

Welcome to the start of a full course on vector calculus. In this intro video I'm going to give an overview of the major concepts and ideas that we are going to be seeing throughout the course: Vector Fields, Line Integrals, Surface Integrals, Flux & Flow, and the big theorems of Green's Theorem, Stokes' Theorem and the Divergence Theorem. It's totally ok if everything doesn't click 100% in this first video, the goal is to just give the flavour of the ideas not dive into the details as we will shortly. Hope you will enjoy!

Dr Bazett, I'm a 67-year-old retired computer scientist, and your calculus videos are rejuvenating my love of math. Thank you so much! (I love your effective use of graphics, too.)

Dr Bazett I really want to thank You, I am an embedded engineer from Mexico who is studying physics and this is superb quality content which otherwise wouldn't be available in my country and I wouldn't be able to pay for it, I hope You know how much manyof Us appreciate the content, and are lifetime thankful with your tremendous effort of providing this top quality content.

Dr Bazett, the way you so simply yet elegantly explain what flux mathematically is, is very deeply appreciated. I have read some articles about flux while studying the divergence theorem to actually understand what the theorem is trying to say, and I have been struggling to understand the concept of flux. The articles I have read/videos I have watched seemed to be suggesting that there was something actually happening rather than a "tendency" of something happening, which bothered me a lot. And earlier today I was telling my self, that mathematically speaking, flux has to be some potential, or tendency as you say, depending on the field I have defined, but I couldn't be sure since I haven't come across to any perspective as such, until I have seen your video. So I would like to thank you from heart, that you have actually showed me that my perspective was, I believe, mathematically more accurate as opposed to the articles I have read, which in return helped me to understand rather than just learn.

Thank you Dr Bazett so much for your concise way of explaining vector calculus. I am a 58 year old retired EE and now understand vector calculus and how it applies to Mawell's equation better than when I graduated. Keep up the good work.

I’m a hs senior and currently taking AP Calculus BC. The vector calculus math, and multi variable calc looks so fascinating. I’ve seen what the math looks and for months thought it was just called “advanced calculus” now I know it’s “vector” Even though I don’t plan on studying math as a profession, it’s so interesting.

I am an astrophysicist and teaching E&M for the first time. The first chapter in every textbook is Vector Algebra and Vector Calculus. I think I may be sharing your videos with my class. Your explanations are so fabulous...
