Evo or STI?

Been owning a jdm gc8 for over a decade now with over 120k miles. Thats one fun car. Original engine and all i have done is regular maintenance

4G63 for life! Though I am biased in this regard not only growing up in the 90's but also owning a 1GA DSM & 2 Galant VR-4's (currently loving my current '92 every chance I get).

Both are legendary cars and I love them both but I love Evo more

GC8 sti version 6 type R v-limited is the best.. better gearing, smoother, better build quality .. iv owned

A 1998 sti version 4 sedan

A Impreza turbo 2000 pro drive (year 2000 Uk spec wrx)

A 1998 evo 5 GSR fully built
A 1999 evo 6 RS

I have literally fallen in love with the EVO, especially since there is one living one block away from me. It rarely comes out; and when it does it’s an absolute treat! It’s fully built and crazy loud: it makes the windows in my apartment shake!! 😂😂

The 4G is much more reliable and responds better to mods than the boxer engine. I owned both cars and would take the Evo every time.

Biased here since I would want both. I've had my share of subies, and I've gotten lucky enough not having to rebuild any of them. On the other hand, a well equipped Evo 1-9 would make me happy 😂.

this is actually a hard one. lol ill say that honestly a lot of my early year car choices are based on the fact that i had friends with those cars. one buddy had an 04 350z back when they were basically new and now i actually love that car. that same friend also had *2* 98 240se around that same time so again i grew to really like that car. i had a buddy that had an 04 WRX so i started to really like those. these were all around the same time in the early 2000s so these cars were still kinda new, but between WRX and EVO if you put the keys to an EVO VII or an 04 impreza WRX in front of me id probably take the EVO. my friend had a WRX, but BRIAN had an EVO so they both mean something to me. lol

The evo has more of a mythical feel to it since I see soo many more STI but I love a nice 2011 STI hatchback

In my youth I was always an Evo guy. I gotta say though that the VA STI has really won me over to the point where I almost got it twice. The new VB STI though, not really feeling it. Just my opinion

Just go to any import vs domestic drag night. Or watch import vs domestic full event and tell me how many STI you see.

After my 4G63 experience with 1G DSM, 2G DSM, and an Evo, I'll stick with the STI. DSM are nightmares, but I deff love em still

As a owner of 2 wrx’s i can confirm evo’s are better! Both amazing cars but owning a subaru is like signing your life away and i advise you avoid them at all cost 😂!
