I think what is the most subtle way to win over the audience is voicing what we think, through the characters. Like when Kousei says "you really have a way with words". It makes Kaori's bold personality a little easier to swallow, I think. And then you fall in love with her alongside Kousei.

i dont know how many people notice this after finish watching the show but any of u notice how in the opening scene of the first episode Kaori walks in the same place and sees the black cat
And in the ending Kousei goes through almost the exact sequence as Kaori in the first episode IM CRYINGGGG
