I used to have one as a kid because my parents went through a “we love fish” phase. It was literally on the surface of the water on its back half the time. No, it wasn’t dead, it just couldn’t swim. Thinking about it now is genuinely sad because I just thought it was being a little quirky, not that it was probably suffering.
