Hey Luke, I just wanted to say that the reason for your low success rate is also often because this is the first time the fish have bred after a while, especially after being stressed out on a plane. I have seen this happen a lot and so you just have to be persistent. Keep up the great work!!! (ps. you got me into goldfish and now I have two fat panda oranda and 4 red and white ranchus.)

I'm still blown away by how fast goldfish eggs hatch out

The traditional chinese way is to put a lot of hornworts(or plastic thread balls) at the bottoms of tank to help separate the eggs.

Sir I wish you best luck & success..🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Every hand spawning you'll gain success etc. Now I'll share tip the mistake you made was the extracting all eggs at once. I mentioned previously to do small amounts then rotate the Male/ female extraction. This way you avoid the eggs clumping on top each other.Plus the size of goldfish you've got it's best to do multiple tanks with some eggs than all in one tank. Remember not to keep all eggs in one clutch. Also you can use some spawning medium adding some layers so the eggs don't all stick to floor. Secondly now as you've extracted the old eggs from this female you should condition her separately for 3 weeks then breed her again. Making sure to incorporate duckweed wheat germ & steam eggs & high protein foods. This next batch would be more viable etc.

I know this is an old video but I learnt something pretty cool while breeding corydoras. You add cherry shrimp to the breeding tank and they'll clean and turn the eggs for you, feeding off the algae growing on the eggs but they never eat the eggs themselves unless they are rotting. I don't how effective this would be with goldfish but its just a thought I had the other day XD
