Whether it be someone at school you've never spoken to before, a cute colleague at work, or someone you see in a public place like a mall or on public transit, knowing how to approach someone effectively can be a make or break strategy in your dating life.

To meet that special someone, I've always believed that simply starting a conversation is the first step, and that if you can do that, you're on your way to finding love (and potentially meeting some great people in the process!)

Well it seems so easy to talk to people after watching this video, but the problem is that if the heart beats so fast that you start shaking, and forget in the first place why you are talking to the person, then you start blushing, and lack the ability to even pronounce words in a correct way, and the whole situation becomes so awkward that you promise yourself that you won’t do it again.. ☹️

As a gay man, I have the confidence to approach people like that, but its hard for me to meet people because i don't know who's actually gay. It's an extra unfortunate step, and I'd love to see a video that's maybe more targeted toward getting past that hurdle? Love this video and it has some great advice though!!

I just assume that most women don't want to be bothered so I never approach them in public. Also, I think most straight men are more responsive to conversation from a strange (esp. attractive) woman versus the other way around. Also, I wouldn't recommend flirting with co-workers or asking them on a date. That's a quick way to get fired these days.

I looooved this video! So different and so relatable for many people out there who do not feel comfortable enough to open up and get socialized! I think this experiment actually is a little represantation of reality! Well done girls! <3

One of my favorite tactics is what I call the Sherlock Homes approach, where you observe before engaging to see what you can discern about them and use as a conversation piece. What are they carrying? What kinds of features and accessories are on their clothes? Do they have any visible tattoos? Sherlock Holmes can make a lot of factual claims about people he just met with amazing accuracy by making casual observations about them and what they have with them, try to develop such a skill. A great place to do this is at the grocery store, you can tell a lot about a person by what's in their cart.
It's also helpful to do that the other way around, deliberately wear/carry really distinctive stuff indicative of who you are to encourage people to come up to you. I once knew of someone who carried around a plastic skull because it was such an unusual object to just be casually carrying around in public that people would just have to come up and ask about it.
One time, I was going to a comic convention, but didn't have a cosplay ready in time, so I instead took one of my blank white shirts, drew the Hindu Symbol of Dharma on it, and then wrote a couple quotes on the back. That way, whenever someone saw me, they'd see I was clearly wearing a handmade shirt and those who knew the symbol would know I was advertising "cosmic order", and those who didn't would want to ask what it means. The quotes on the back (one of which was an original quote) further cemented that, it was like an opening line without having to talk.

The trick to approaching anyone is comfort. You have to be comfortable to approach and be able to maintain that comfort. If you look uncomfortable subconsciously the subject of the conversation will also start to be uncomfortable.

Video seems pretty straight forward, Confidence is always the key when talking to new people. However one thing I'd like to point out is this beautiful woman will never have any problems talking with anyone as long as she has the confidence to do so. However anyone with a disfigured, or who is overweight or is otherwise deemed 'unattractive' it won't be as simple as the video shows. You still need a lot of confidence in yourself; but you will have to talk to twice as many people to get even a quarter of the results.
